About Cord Calc
Cord Calc is a small set of free calculators for knotting and fiber crafts: friendship bracelets, macramé, kandi and leftover yarn. Each one answers a single question before you cut: how long should each string be, and will what I have be enough?
How the numbers are worked out
Every calculator shows its formula on the same page. The multipliers come from widely used community rules of thumb, which are linked where they are quoted, plus our own test bracelets. Knot tension, thread thickness and pattern style all change how much string a knot eats, so every result includes a safety margin you can adjust. Treat the result as a cutting estimate, not a guarantee.
Independent and free
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. The site is not affiliated with any pattern site, thread brand or shop.
